Weekly Art Challenge on Tumblr - #149 - Color Palette Challenge

I always love the challenges on this site because most people do digital art. So I feel like I stand out. And I especially like the challenge this week because it is a color palette challenge. Here are the colors for the challenge:

I think I did a pretty good job on this challenge. It is a little difficult to see because there is a bit of a glare.

I started out gesso in my page. After it was dry, I put a stencil down and using a credit card, smeared a thick amount of gesso on top of the stencil. When I lifted the stencil, it left an awesome reverse impression of the stencil image.

I then painted the light blue, followed by the Orange, red, and brown over the flowers and at the top. After that I ran a light blue stamp over the flowers. Lastly, I glued the butterfly in place. I was stoked that I had a piece of ephemera that had all the palette colors and nothing else.

I can't wait to see what the next tumblr challenge is.
