This was a super fun page to do. The challenge came from Scrap Around The World and each week they have a mood board to inspire the artists. Here it is:
I saw the footprint in the sand and wondered if I could do something like that. And so I tried.
🌀 First I put a ton of gesso on the page and smeared it all around.
🌀 I wondered what I could do to make it look kind of sandy. I thought about using salt or something like that. But I decided to try embossing powder instead.
🌀 But before I used the heat gun, I painted my giant, size 10 foot brown and stepped on the gooey page. It didn't leave as much of a mark as maybe I had wanted to, but I was ok with it.
🌀 Then I heated the page up a bit, just enough to get the powder to really stick. And then I waited a few hours for the whole thing to really dry.
🌀 I used tissue paper, watercolors, and glossy modge podge for the water. I layered the tissue and put the podge and paint in between each layer. It came out the way I wanted.
🌀 After the water, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I'm not completely happy with what I decided but I still think it's a pretty cool project. I ended up just putting watercolor on a flourish stamp and stamping it.
Have a good night!
